I've got a intermittent miss that is annoying the crap out of me. I was thinking of buying Casper's ignition module tester to see if mine is bad. I've never changed it and it is hotwired. In fact, I have a buddy that'll go in with me on the tester.

What should I do?

My setup has a MAF translator on it also. The cam sensor cap is new.

Yeah, I mean I haven't messed with it and it was correct the last time I looked.

if the intermittent miss is only at cruise, push the brake pedal just enough to force the TC to stay unlocked and see if that cure it.

another way to do that test is to unplug the 4 wire connector on the side of the transmission.


a flaky pressure switch or break pedal switch can unlock and quickly lock the TC and it can feel EXACTLY like a misfire.

I remembered it isn't just at cruise but during acceleration in lower gears where the lock up wouldn't kick in.
