I'm nowhere near getting my mock up block sitting inside the bay much less having a frame back under the car. Nevertheless, I want to know what kind of hood clearance to expect so I can continue to buy a few pieces. I'd love to run the Hi Ram with the 417 air to water so I could avoid a mess of piping in the bay, but I'm currently unwilling to sacrifice a factory GN style hood. So which other intake manifolds have people successfully fit?

W/ proper location, the Vortec truck intake clears.
I'd not even think of engine location before the chassis and body are assembled..Just sayin.
Look thru some of the other builds. AIRC, I've seen more than 1 w/ the ram style intakes.
I set mine up w/ a truck intake, then changed to the Edelbrock Vic Jr, a FAST 4 bbl t/b. I did this not because of hood issues, but I had the parts, and decided to use them.
Note that the mounts are 2 different hgts.
