Hot Wheels GN, the motor?

is that a Callaway corvette engine in the Hot Wheels GN? that's what it looks like to me. what were those Mattel guys thinking? so disappointing.

Is that the red one that says on the back that they only made 547 GN's in 87?? They really know there stuff!! Guess they confused the GN with the GNX. And this is what they do for a living.............:tongue:

To me, it looks dead on the Buick v6 that Kenny D built for a sand rail that was in Hot Rod magazine a few years ago. It had dual intercoolers mounted on top of the engine.

Thanks for the pointer in the right direction. The GN Hot Wheels does have socially redeeming value after all. I feel better about my purchase, don't have to be embarrassed about the motor. it does have heritage and pedigree.

I sure noticed that most stores wiped out their Hot Wheels collection after that scare, and since then I have found 0 GN Hot Wheels on the shelf, before that I could usually find at least 1 in every Walmart or Target I went into.
