how to remove the top of the dash?

I want to take out the part the covers the top of the dash and has the speaker grills in it.

Where it covers the speakers it is cracked on each side.

Does that piece come off by itself or do I have to take the whole dash off?

Anyone successfully glued thier speaker grills before?

Why did it crack there?

It's 4 torx screws, black hex headed. Lifts right out. Cracks due to heat from windshield. Could probably glue it, not sure how it would look. FYI, JB Weld is darn close to GN interior gray color. A very, very small dab would be virtually unnoticable.

Mine had 9 torx screws but I got them all out ok.

I found out why my upper dash is warped and cracked.......there are some type of dome tweeters under there in place of the 3.5's!!!!

I will be replacing them asap. The tweeters sound ok but I wonder if 3.5's would sound better.

Anyway, got the upper dash part off so all is well.
