Over a year ago I had two stints put in the ol ticker and found out a couple months and chest pain later that the doc installed the second stint blocking a branch artery. He tried for 2.5 hrs to correct the problem but was not able to fix it. I talked with a buddy of mine who is a doctor (and fellow GN owner) and he suggested I go see another specialist about an hour north of me. (Dr. William Lombardi) I went to him and after his proceedure he came into my room and said "sorry.....but I did in 12 SECONDS what the other guy tried doing in two and a half hours. Fast forward from March to November and I start having mild cchest pain after walking 1/4 mile and it starts ramping up over a few weeks. Went back in yesterday and he found that the other doc had installed too small of a stint in the primary heart arter
y and scar tissue had built up. He used a balloon (made sure it was a blown and tweaked into a baboon before he started........like a carnival clown would) and he inflated it to smash the scar tissue behind the stint and also enlarge the ID of the stint. Hopefully this will last more than 8 months this time. So....Happy New Year everyone! I took a lickin' but kept on ticken'!!!!! Woo-hoo.

WOW, I say you should be good for awhile...You are lucky that it was caught in time. Did the first Dr give you a warranty? LOL Glad you are OK

I'll be rootin' for ya that it all works much better this time around. Happy New Year!!! :)

Hang in there, sounds like you need to stick with this new Doc! Hope you have good insurance, can't imagine what that would cost with my new health insurance at work.

hello and you did have a happy new year. I hope that will be the last of it. At work there's a few people with stints and there going strong and so will you. Just keep the boost level down a bit.

ummmm Ken this crap is getting old here. Keep the old head up. I don't have those kinda problems.. NO heart so I have been told by numerous people. :p

Hope your recovery goes well, Ken! Keep your head up!

Ken, hope the new year treats you better.
Once you are ready please start posting all that great knowledge..........I have searched all your other threads on all boards. I don't believe most here understand what type of resource you are.

To better times ahead. Get well.

Thanks guys! I'm doing good now. I'm spending the rest of the week at our lake house and doing very little. After the MAD rush at the end of the year to deliver a bunch of airplanes I planned on taking extra time off anyway. I am feeling well enough to be at work right now though. Just can't lift more than 10 pounds for a week. (Kinda hard to pee now). Wealth of knowledge? Naw......I've just been making mistakes longer than most. I had to learn to work on these things back in '88 when I bought one. I was too poor to pay anyone to fix what I broke. Hell.........I use to change head gaskets like most people change oil. I've done it on the side of the road with hand tools in about 12 hours with my wife tapping her shoe with her arms crossed the whole time. Back then I was running 11.8's on 30 lb Tomco injectors, stock Turbo, stock intercooler, and 8" DOT M&H tires. Then I starred messing around with my own alcohol system. And 7th & 8th injectors in the up pipe. Man do we have it easy these days. Sure was FUN beating up on BBC's off their trailer when I would show up with the kids in the back seat and have AC and cruise control for the trip home. Now I never get the time to race anymore. Everyone else's car comes first, and if I do get some free time I'd rather go for a booze cruise in our boat around our lake. Quiet and beautiful sights. I've got a stageII that is crying for my twin Turbo set up. Or.........just sell it all and be the old guy out at the lake. What should I do?

As an another OLD guy here (61) , after having 4 bypass surgery in 2001 I can relate!! My car is my motivator!! I will be the first Buick in the 3's in the 1/8 mile if God gives me time. I often wonder if its right , and I dont know the answer but it is what keeps me going. Your life and your decision!! But if life at the lake has left you with no motivation , you better start making some time in the garage. Life may be short!! Enjoy the ride!! Which ever ride you choose. Best of luck Mike

Well....here's a pick of the lake today. Better than sitting in front of a TV. Just took that. It was crappy this morning and now it cleared up nicely.

Ken, just read this............I'm so thankful you're still here! You've really been through the mill! You truly have the Lord on your side....I don't know what His plan is for you, but it must be a damn good one.....(like letting me have your car while you recover:D) No really........

Oh, man, Ken! That place is beautiful!!! I just bought a plane ticket about 19 minutes ago to that actual place!!!! I'll be right up.

Ham and eggs with coffee will be fine for breakfast.....I'll bring the cups.

Thanks Bruce. Wait until August to visit. Nicer weather. Rainy and cold here until then. Then we get three weeks of sun followed by 49 weeks of rain and cold. But you are welcome anytime. As are most of you all. (Not Grumpy though..........because .........well....he's just plain Grumpy.)
