I have K-1 rods with ARP 2000 rod bolts, I know they say to torque 30lbs & then go 60 degs- but has anyone come up with a torque spec that is very close? I
Using the rod bolt stretch method as outlined on the K1 instruction sheet it took between 90-100 ft/lbs to reach the specified stretch. I was surprised how much it took but thats why you need to either use the angle or the stretch method, using a specified torque is inaccurate.

Was that with moly , oil, or dry? That is a lot for a 7/16 thread. I have the old H-beam rods that ATR sold with the same ARP fasteners as the late K1's and the torque spec is around 70 ft. lbs with moly. A stretch gauge is fairly cheap and worth having if you are assembling engines. Id get one for the accuracy they provide.
