'82 uses a different knock sensor than '83/87, but I am told the knock gauge should still work. I just haven't verified this yet.
The knock gauges uses power, ground and signal. Signal T into the yellow wire between the ESC module and the ECM. The ESC module is under the dash, up high, just to the right of the instrument pod. Get power from an ignition swicthed source. There's a couple of open spot on the fuse block.
