I threw my old flip down rear license plate bracket in with some items I was having powder coated Gloss Black. This is off my 87 GN. Has not been mounted since having powdered. Not a thing wrong with it, looks great and being powdercoated- will continue to look that way as powder coating is super durable.
This is not a stay down bracket, it has the springs and will return to up position.
