I had a pair of T wheels blasted with baking soda. They started bright orange but $20 and two days later they looked like they came from the factory.

There are many types of blasting media that can work. Around here, we just take all rims to local machine shop. $60 for cleaning all rims. I think they use a bead blaster? (glass beads) Look like new when done. I found ten aluminum brake drums at the local yard and also had them cleaned. I bought drums for $6.50 each, They sell for $70-80 a set.
