Rubber can be used as long as it has been chemically treated. Typically Buna rubber should be fine.. but care has to be taken as all rubber is not created equally.
Personally I would use teflon line or stainless line as there is then zero chance of any issue.
I don't know how many manufacturers there are out there for braided SS rubber hose, but the stuff I get from my supplier has been fine with methanol. The fellow that sells me the hose is an old alky dragster racer and he says the braided SS rubber hose is what he and others used.
