Car was running fine while I owned it. Sold the car to a friend and he had it for 2 days running perfect. Starting fine and everythign good. Now he left the car running and it ran out of gas. Problem now is the car will not start again. What could it be. I dropped about 4 gallons of gas in it and still won't start. let me know thanks

Since it ran out of fuel, check to see if the fuel pump runs when you first turn the key to the run position. It should run for a few seconds. Or see if you have pressure at the fuel rail with a gauge. If it has fuel go to check spark next. Good luck. Also running cars with a in tank fuel pump is not good, the gas cools the pump. Running low often shortens the pump life.

For sure, it burned up the fuel pump. It takes a very little amount of time for that to happen when you run out of fuel on these types of in tank pumps. They are lubricated by the gasoline. It ran dry probably for quite some time and very likely just siezed up.
