I just bought a new set of Goodyear Eagle slicks a while ago and now I am having 60' issues at the track as well as huge traction issues on the street (which I never had). I was looking at the slicks and they look alittle weather checked on the side. The tires say "D2793" on the side. Does anyone know how how to decipher that date code because I think I just bought a new pair of really old slicks???

27-93 the first two digits the week the second two digits the year hope that helps ya.

Really, I just bought them a couple months ago from summit racing. That would mean they are like 18 years old. That can't be right can it? I do not even think they could sell tires that old.

with passengercar and semi tractor d.o.t tires that how it works. with slicks theres no way summit would sell them that old. so with offroad tires slicks would stand to reason a differant code.call goodyear or google there site mite have some info that would help ya.
