Looks like the car will need a little bit of TLC, but Ive already seen your work and know its going to turn out good. I found one two towns over for real cheap, but lost it a day too late.

I love great deals. I wanted a blue one pretty bad & I got it. The ttops are a bonus

Sent out some parts to the sand blaster & started painting them today

Pulling the engine apart & prepping all the parts as I pull them off. I'm contemplating porting my heads when I pull them off. Any opinions?

Minus well do it now

I really want to but if I do it I'll take a little longer to finish this up. I was quoted $800. To port & we never talked about bigger valve so I'm assuming it might cost $1000. To do them.

You can save some coin and do the heads yourself. You can do a port match if you dont want to get too extensive with it.

Got some questions.......

I was looking @ the casting # on my head & the number did not stand out to me. In other words doesn't sound familiar to turbo engine.

Those are the early casting 6293, supposedly they dont have a bridge in the water passage that made the head prone to cracks, but some did have the bridge. The cylinder heads on my engine are 6293 and they both have the bridge.

Looks like fun tearing it down, i already know your going to throw down on the cosmetics. keep us upated as proress moves along.

How about port everything, stroke it, forged assembly, E 85 and go for 500 hp at the wheels?

Got some parts back today. I'm gonna get right on them.

So far this paint is the one that has given me the closest look to aluminum.

I wanna get the body soda blasted. Anyone have any experience doing that process??

What's more desirable, a car that has the engine compartment (firewall) original black or color matching the exterior paint????
