Still running a little fat so I think this combo has a lot more in it.
This is on a stock turbo that is in need of a rebuild. This is the turbo I ran at BPG last weekend and a few seen how bad it was when I had it off the car:eek: Direct Scan showed the car is shifting at 4k on the 1-2 and 4600 on the 2-3 other than that the files looked good.

Good runs. Improvement is always nice. You should pick up more when you take out more fuel too.

Have you tried shifting it by hand just to see if it responds any better? Whats the rpm dropping down to after the shifts? I just pulled up an old Directscan file of a mid 12sec run with a stock turbo and everything with an Art Carr 9.5" converter. It shifted at 4700rpm or so and only dropped 600 rpm. The converter was too loose, even though the ET wasn't that bad (12.6@102mph with a 1.68 60ft). Turns out the turbo shaft was loose and eating up the blades too, but not sure how long it had been happening.

My GN that went high 11s on stock stuff recently only has a restalled D5 converter that works great (along with a tight stock turbo). I don't know if you plan on upgrading the turbo or not, and if not, a larger and tighter converter will give you the most efficiency and not much stall is needed.

I put it in "D" and go. I have not tried manually shifting it.

It drops 550-600 on the 1-2 and 650 on the 2-3 Plus I'm running a 28" tire so it's not going to rev as high if it had 26" tires.

The converter I have is not matched for the turbo so that's probably why it's not shifting where it's supposed to. I have a 66 but need bigger injectors to go with it. I'll leave the converter in for now. The car would probably pick up if it had a tighter converter like you said. 12.7x for a street car isnt all that bad...just put the radials back on and hook up the sway bar it's a daily driver.

Surprised by the fact you only gained a tenth from pass 2 to 3. Your 60' was better and 3 more pounds of boost on pass 3 and only a tenth??????

I agree! I think the converter is affecting this and the shift points as well. Next time out I'm going to try manually shifting at 5k
