oil pump

any 1 know if the oil pump on a 82 sc seperates from the timming cover. the reason i ask is i blew a gasket or sending unit or some thing. so i went to take off the pump and the cover is the only thing i could get to come off and i dont see any more bolts in that area.

The oil pump itself is cast into the timing cover. You can get the lower oil pump gasket or a pump rebuild kit from most any parts store. You can work on the pump without removing the timing cover.
