hello, Im having my car (malibu) painted and wanted to paint the grille and trim black. I will have all the metal trim powder coated but what about the plastic gille and headlight buckets? what do guys use for prep and paint?

thanks
Scott

I painted a few sets before, I just got a quart of SEM or Marhide black satin readily availble around here. Sanded real lightly with a real fine scoth brite, wiped them down real good with wax/tar remover available at any auto body supply store and sprayed them.

Best way to paint those items is to get a couple cans of the SEM trim black and prep like Gran Nash says. It's pretty easy but don't spray heavy coats as it'll run. Spray 3 light coats and you'll be fine. And you won't believe how well they'll look when done!!
