Polishing turbine wheels advice.

What is the safest way to polish the face of the turbine wheels....84-85 specifically? I am worried I'll take the black off if I use my power polisher and an air buff with rouge.

I would use a hard cotton buffing tool and mask off the paint just to be safe. I got this set at harbor freight.
