Popping Problems..

I have a popping problem with 2 different 93 octane street chips,but no popping with stock chip..Whats up with that???? It happens at about half throttle around 10 psi of boost.. Is 20 degrees of timing too much for 93 octane? how much timing is programmed into an OE chip??? 30# inj,hotwired walbro pump 43 psi fuel pressure,stock turbo,Do I need alky to upgrade to a more agressive chip? Please help..What causes these cars to pop? I see by reading other posts its a pretty common concern with these cars.Im new to these cars,but having fun learning.

If you ease into the throttle can you get more boost out of the engine before it pops? If yes - coilpack.

I have not tried that yet,actually I have brand new Delco ignition module and coil pack that I have not yet installed.I will do it this week and see what happens.Thanks for the reply........Ken....
