posi carrier removal and reinstall question

Need to remove my posi to change clutches. Can I just remove and reinstall as long as I put the shims and caps back in their original positions? I'm not changing bearings or gears. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

yes keep track of shims and rock on

WOuldn't kill you to replace the bearings and seals while it's apart. And yes, just keep track of the bearing caps and shims and put it all back the way it came out.

I concur....the pass side outer axle bearing is veery very common on these cars to go out. You can rent a slide hammer and bearing pullers from parts stores and get the money back when done. The seals and bearings arent very expensive either.

75ft-pd is spec. I just use my 3/8 impact.....
