Power antenna issues

Greetings;

Has anyone had problems with the power antenna? The antenna is getting stuck 3/4 of the way down, at that point the motor keeps running. I have lubricated lightly, no effect.

sounds like the internal nylon cable is broken.make sure the masts are clean and not bent any.

I think its the most common problem with these cars prob from sitting to much

someone had mentioned that in order to replace the motor, the fender has to be removed?

I cannot believe the great minds of GM in the 80's could have engineered a fix that simple!
