Radiator fan help

Well first off my Buick is running again....been months since the last time I hard it run. Anyways, the radiator fan is giving me greef. The fan want cut on once the car turns on, A/C is turned on, or temp gets warm etc. BUT, you can spin the fan blades by hand/tool while the car is running (with A/C on etc) and the fan will run continueous on it's on power until the car is cut off. I'm replacing the fan motor but I can't help but think something like a relay could be the issue

Mine did the same thing. The fan motor is worn. I plan to get mine rebuilt as well since I have now gone thru 2 sets of dual fans.

Cool, I got a fan on order but just wanted to double check. I've never messed with electric fans. All mine has been typical clutch type fans.
