regal guage surrounds

I was wondering if they all interchange 78-87 or if they are specific to the dash style, 78-83;84-87

Pretty sure you need 84-87. Unless you are talking about the padded part that matches the dash, then it might work but you'd have to dye it the correct shade of gray. If you are talking about the bezel then the regals had regular woodgrain. Does your WE4 have a black bezel? Never seen one so I don't know what they had.

Let me rephrase that-THE PADDED DASH SURROUND.

I think the only way to get the right shade of gray is to go 85-87 regal. I asked eric fisher a question on interior colors and he said the TR gray was started in 85. also used on some other gm cars but the padded surround is likely regal only. Now, if you want to paint/dye it you could likely go back much further. Looking at the pics I have of that 82 GN, the surround looks very close to the same dimensions but I don't know for sure. Eric fisher could tell you but he hasn't been on here much lately.
