N Nick Micale Tech Advisor Staff member Joined May 26, 2001 Feb 3, 2014 #3 Since you state no info about your engine build, and "assuming" you have iron heads, it should be fine w/o shims or locators. We have done hundreds of irons heads w/o them, and never seen any issues.
