Fully restored hot-air setup,Almost all stock setup..my problem is when i start to go into boost while driving, my throttle starts to get erratic and popping. I tried two different coil setups and modules. So i know its not that. My MAF is a crappy reman...Im thinkin that could be it. Or my factory chip. And at idle parked, It smells really rich..what is responsible for the A/F mixture?..could that be my O2 sensor?..because that is old and original too.....Just curious to hear anybodys info.....I am gonna upgrade to LT1 maf and translator/87 ECM and scanmaster. In the near future to take out the guesswork.

I would check the easy things first before throwing money at it. The chip controls fuel.

Verify that there are no vacuum leaks. Check the headers
for leaks as well. Use carb cleaner.
Ohm out each spark plug wire. They all should be within 10% of each other.
Ohm out the three coils. Should be between 11-13 each.
Check fuel pressure. line off.
Borrow an OTC 2000 or OTC 4000 and get the ECM readings.
Borrow a used o2 sensor and swap.
Borrow another MAF sensor and swap.

I recommend getting your car running right or identifying the issue before upgrading. Post back your results and thoughts. Brad

sounds like the MAF or arching wire maybe both and more.

Get yourself a DESNO o2 sensor much better tech then 20yr bosch style.

What thermostat are you running?

Thanks guys...i will run a few tests. Luckily my buddy has a unmolested 85 T-Type. So i can use his OEM MAF,and his o2 sensor.
