ScanMaster Help!

Trying to troubleshoot a ScanMaster problem for a local GN.

When turning on the car, the ScanMaster will read 2.1 and then shut off. Looks like it's not receiving signal from the ECM.

The Power wire is tapped into IGN2 of the fuse block.
The Ground wire has a good ground at the firewall.
The White Signal wire is tied into the proper E connector of the ALDL.

I bypassed the E connector at the ALDL and ran the White Signal wire from the ScanMaster straight to the data feed input A8 at the ECM.

Looking over a few threads on this issue, it said to have the White Signal wire make contact with a good ground to rule out the Scanmaster being the culprit.

When the White wire makes contact with a Ground, it flashes 2.1 and gives out false sensor infornation or dashes across the board.

This leads me to believe that in fact the ScanMaster is in good working order, and the culprit lies with a defective ECM.

ECM has bee modified to accept Low Impedence 72lbs Injectors and is using an Extreme chip. Car ran fine.

Anyone experience this before? How can we fix it?

Thank you

I never seen it but anything is possible.

Can you put your hands on another ecm to test?

TurboBuRick,

I'm going to take my ECM out of my GN and try it on his GN. I'll report back any findings.

Thank you
