Scanmaster problems

I have purchased a used scanmaster with a 2.2 chip/update from a board member that will not work on its own without a power logger I asked him if it would work stand alone he told me yes and now after the sm lights up and goes through some prompts is goes out and powers off from I guess no data stream anyone know how to get this to work with no pl it is being used just to monitor the new engine while breaking it in to prevent washing the cyl's from being to rich after break in I am installing a xfi system any help would be nice.

Nope, gotta have either a Powerlogger to supply data to it, OR, replace the 2.2 chip with a 2.1

do you know where I can get a 2.1 chip or maybe trade my 2.2 for a 2 .1
