While making a few test runs I noticed on DS that my 1-2 shifts were shifting in the 3900-4150 range while my 2-3 shifts were in the 5000 rpm range .My ques. is twofold-Are the 1-2 shift points lo and if so what do I need to do to bring up?The tranny/conv. combo is stock and this was shifting in D w/the converter locked.thanx

I am having the same exact problem. Will your car down shift to first gear and run up to 5000rpms, but short shift (between 3500 and 4000) from a standing start?

We talked last week about this issue on the phone, but I didn't have my pressure readings handy. Below are the numbers.
Park: 75 psi, full TV 225 psi
Reverse: 125 psi, full TV 225 psi
Drive and Manual 3rd: 75 psi, full TV 225 psi
Manual 2nd and 1st: 125 psi, full TV 125 psi
Let me know if you have any ideas on what is causing the transmission to short shift first gear only.
