Shifting High

Im having a problem keeping the TV cable in one place. after i adjust it properly the car shifts great but after pressing the petal all the way down while driving the cable slides out about 3/4 of and inch and the car begins shifting at 4,000 RPM's! Today I drove the car a little but every time I hit it the cable changes position and begins shifting to high. I tuged on the cable and could not get it to move so I dont under stand how it is moving when i hit the gas. I hope one of you guys has experienced this cause im stumped.

how bout some more info. on what led up to this, like why did you have to adjust it, when did it start?

Sorry ya that would help, I just bought the car a month ago and the problem has been there ever since i recieved it. the car is all stock, my guess is that the holding mechanism on the tv cable is not doing its job while driving.
