Speedo adjustment ?

I just switched back to a 3.42 rear gear from a 3.73 that the previous owner installed. Now my speedo is off. Do these cars have gear driven speedos or are they computer controlled? Gear on speedo or in tranny? TIA

In a 200r4 Trans the speedo gear is in the transmission behind the bullet shaped adaptor that the speedo cable screws on to.

You need to go to a GM parts dealer and select the proper driven gear for the rear ratio. There are different gears available, all identified by their color.

Thanks Paul. I tried to call you back a little bit ago but got your voicemail. I'll give you a call later. I've been fighting a leak in these new valve covers.
I can't get them to seal. Looks like the stockers are goin back on.
