Steel Caps for the 8.5 Diff

Does anyone know if there are steel caps available for the Buick 8.5 in 10 bolt Diff ?

Not shure about caps but u can get a stud kit from h&r parts.

The caps in the rear end are machine matched to the rear end - just like and engine line bore. you can't change them out without machine work - which I have never heard of. get a TA girdle - it's the support you're looking for.

Thanks Guys, rebuilding the Diff now but have the car set up TSA class so no aftermarket covers.
I will look into the studs and find out if they will fit with the stock cover.

i have seen steel caps advertised for the GM corporate 8.5 before, but i can't remember who sold them... but there is machining involved- have fun finding a shop that is capable of boring a rear end housing..
probably cheaper to swap in a 9 inch than put steel caps on an 8.5, but if you class rules prohibit it, then maybe it's time to build to the rules of a different class..
