Stuck at 10 psi

Looking for ideas on potential causes for not being able to build more then 10 psi boost. Issue is
recent since my last run had no issues running 29 psi on C16.

Initial search for ideas has yielded these areas to investigate :
> Turbo moves freely
> Exhaust leak/cracks
> Up pipe compromised
> Ruptured intercooler
> Turbo plumbing check for disconnects
> Boost controller kink in line

Just looking for other ideas & additional areas to investigate during my troubleshooting.

Thanks.

Are you using the dash boost gauge or an aftermarket boost gauge to see boost?
Prior to upgrades were you building past 10 psi?

Using an aftermarket boost gauge as well as XFI MAP reading that confirms boost.
Yes. Past runs had no issues building boost.

What type of wastegate you using and have you checked to make sure it is working and not stuck open?

What spring is in the wastegate? If its ~10lb spring, then the problem is the boost controller. If the spring is setup for more than that, the problem is exhaust or boost leak.

Just went thru something similar.

Thanks for the input. Will definitely look
into the wastegate. Has a 4 lbs spring.

Disable the wategate/dont allow boost pressure to act on it and carefully see how much boost you can make.

Believe to have found the issue. Turbo to intercooler hose was partially disconnected. Band clamp was not properly tightened so half of hose was not
secured flapping loose venting the boost.

That's happened to a few of us at some point, if the clamps arent tight on that pipe going into the upper intake coming off the intercooler these beasts will under boost will pop that intake pipe loose before you can blink.

Clean the coupler and turbo outlet with alcohol, then go tell your wife or girlfriend ( never both ) that you need to use her expensive hairspray. Spray the outlet and the coupler ,install and clamp.
