T 400 problem

I put my TCI manual valve body in and now I have a problem with it.When I start my car it takes it about 30 to 45 seconds to go into gear 1st or reverse cold or hot.Sometimes also if I slow down while I am in 3rd and down shift to 2nd it acts like it is slipping but if you go to 1st then to second it is ok.What do you think is going on or wrong?

I have heard that most reverse valve bodys for the turbo 400 do what they call freewheel in second gear when down shifting and not applying a load.

I am sure that someone else will chime in that is using one and clarify it.

As far as to why it takes so long to go into low or reverse you have got me but here is a bump to the top.
