timming cover screw

Today I was chaning the timing cover and I broke one of the screws. Its the one that holds the timing tab for the blancer. Does anyone know the size of it.

Hmmm, I'd get another opinion - 1/4" screws only come in 20 and 28 threads per inch...

That is the info given in the Buick 44w parts manual.Maybe it means at 20 threads per inch the 3/4" long bolt will only have 14 threads.

This is correct.

It isn't a regular screw, it's a self-tapping piece. Try part number 92685A520 from McMaster-Carr.

thanks guys. I will check out the size and the part numbers some time this week. If I still can not I will go to the junk yard and see if I can put one form a n/a.
