Anyone have any ideas on keeping the trunk lid piece from dropping over time? I had followed all directions with using contact cement in keeping the trunk lid piece to the trunk lid. After a couple years the bottom of it is giving way. Anyone used any fasteners or removed and reapplied with more contact cement with good results?

If you don't mind drilling into your trunk lid you can use the same type of push pins that hold your hood liner.

Or rivet some strong velcro to the lid. If you get some quality Velcro like 3M you can put a long piece on the trunk lid and a small piece on the cover. That way there's no load on the corners of the trunk side and it'll almost impossible to peel. Unless you live in GA and drive a black car... glue doesn't stand a chance, got to sick with a mechanical fastener holding the Velcro in place.

Interesting science tidbit: Velcro is the only mechanical fastener that gets tighter with vibration. :D
