When I purchased my Tr I was told that it had an after market turbo. I know it is not stock because of the apperance. I have compared the turbo to pictures on www.gnttype.org but still am not positive. Is there any numbers or anything on the turbo that can positivly identify it? thanks

Look at the pictures again and tell us what the the housings most look like.

Turbo Photo Guides

Numbers on the outside of the turbo don't tell you what's inside, they just tell you the A/R of housings used.

We can't read your mind. thumb thru the pic's. tell us it has a "compressor housing like a cheeta turbo, but the turbine housing looks like a TE44" or something of that nature. The differences between a TA and TE and turbonetics compressor housings is OBVIOUS. My two year old could tell them apart. He plays "find the differences" games all the time. Ditto for the turbine housings. Once you have idientified the housings, then you go about identifying what's inside by measuring the wheel inlet and outlet diameter and/or the wheel shapes.

Pretty easy stuff.
