Charlie...here are the compressor wheels that you and I spoke about the other day...I am going to get started on one for you guys to try, we just need to make a decision  Sorry I did not get with you guys earlier, had a big race in South Ga and then the GS Nats over the past 2 weeks!

From left to right for discussion: stock 86/87 GN/T-Type, "0299-4" 301 Pontiac, TO4-E 60 trim (TA-49, TE-44 for the SFI cars), 9535-1 "60-1", GT-35 61.5mm
The first two wheels have been used quite often, but outside of that I can give you the characteristics on the others.
TO4-E 60 trim, it will be a good response unit that will want at least 2600 rpm stall speed, small cam upgrade and maybe some light ported heads and intake. Of course a good exhaust and fuel mods will be needed. It will support an honest 450 FWHP at 18-22 psi depending on engine mods. It likes to move the air at a higher boost pressure than the 0299-4 301 Pontiac, so it would be good for a more restrictive cylinder head (more efficient at a higher boost pressure). I have seen cars that will allow 26 or so PSI out of this compressor with the right cam and head combo.
"60-1" This compressor is one of my all time favorites for the 3.8 Buick, If you have some nice head and intake work it will make the power of the TO4-E 60 trim, but at a much lower boost level. My 87 GN made 398 WHP and 564 #/ft at the tires, all with 16psi. I think your carb car will really like it. This compressor is done by 21-26 psi depending on mods. Power output is in the mid 550 FWHP range on a healthy 3.8 Buick.
GT-35 61.5mm If you want boost pressure out of a Garrett turbo, this compressor is your ticket. On all out applications the GT35 wheel rules above 26psi. It will make enough quality airflow to support just under 600 FWHP on the 3.8. I would like to see somebody with an E-85 combo use this...or a serious alky injected car!
We also have some 64 and 67mm wheels that fit the 301 compressor housing, but they are tight in the V-6 cover, so we will have to talk a little about them as we go along.
