I have been having a problem with my dash volt light coming on from time to time while driving, scanmaster reads 12.0 volts when its on, and when its not on around 14 volts. I recently figured out that it was directly related to my neutral safety switch, if I jiggle the lock ring that rotates on the steering column then the volt light will go on and off. What exactly should I do next? I'm not sure where the neutral safety switch is but it sounds like that might be the problem right? Any help is appreciated. :)

neutral switch is at the base of the column on the top of the tube ,(up behind the pedals)
it adjusts by rotating left to right (it clicks to set position )

properly adjusted it should prevent the car from cranking over when in gear as well your backup lights should be operational when key is on and gear selector is in R
