VSS removal question

To get to the VSS (the green box with the led at the end of the 3 wires) in order to R&R it, do I need to remove the speedo cluster?

Or can it be gotten to by going under the dash or through the radio hole in the dash.

You are going to have to remove the speedometer custer. The optical sensor has a screw mounting it to the back of the speedometer unit where the cable connect. You will have to remove the screw and then unplug the light green box from the radio hole or from under the dash.
The box is throughtly taped to the harness.
