what size is the diff, 80 Regal

I removed the R&P out of a 7.5 S10 which is 3.42:1 and would like to put it into the diff I got with the Turbo V6. Are the 80 Regal's also 7.5 diffs? I looked around and the only info I got was the width of it. Thanks, Henry. Happy New Year

If you have a mid 80's Turbo regal it will have an 8.5 10 bolt

To be more specific, 84-87 turbo regals came from the factory with an 8.5 10 bolt. 83 and earlier were equipped with the 7.5 10 bolt.

an 80 would have a 7.5, and it probably came with craptastical gears like 2.41 or something like that, so the 3.42 gears won't work unless you get a differential for 3.08 and numerically higher gears. the differential from the S10 will work, as long as it isn't a 90's model that had the bigger 28 spline axles..

I put a 28 spline in my 78 just changed the axles tell you the truth they were about shot any way

The S10 are 26 spline. Is that the same as the 80 Regal carrier?

yes.. i think they went to 28 spine in the late 80's when they upgraded to the 7.625" ring gear.
