I was under the hood yesterday all my vacuum line's are cracked/falling apart and in need of replacing. Where should I buy the vacuum lines? Does anyone sell a kit? Thanks

I got good silicon line from Stylinmotors .com, or you can go to autozone......and get line from them.

+1

We did an experiment at one of our Club meets with reg vac line, what we were doing was jumping sparks across the vac lines to show that they can arc.

Buy Silicone

Me and my buddy tested some too. We lit both lines on fire, the silicon took along time to start to burn, the reg line went up in no time.

Thanks guys silicon it is. What sizes should I get if I'm going to replace every piece or how many feet would cover the job?

yeah what really took me was they were really arc'ing, I forget the contraption that Rocky brought but he hooked it up to one line and proceeded to bring another closer and closer untill they were jumping spark, and to think if one had one of them lines next to a power source, such as the fire hazard as you mentioned

I found it in the search, I knew I saw it somewhere.

ok so if im reading this correctly its not just the three sizes he posted at the end (4,6 and 8mm) but actually 8:
5/32 4mm
6/32=3/16 4.5mm
7/32 5.5mm
8/32=1/4 6mm
9/32 7mm
10/32=5/16 8mm
12/32=3/8 9.5mm
and the 6.5mm for the AFR

Those were the original measurements for the buick posted by another member. I guess there is technically 8 sizes, but is there really differance between 7/32 and 8/32  . I think I got 3.5, 4.0,6.0, and 8.0mm for my car originally, and everything worked fine.

This is just the info I been looking for. I will redo my setup soon. I looked at the prices not cheap for the whole car. I might just do the mail parts that are falling apart for now.

Silicone Vacuum Line Sets

Got mine from Special Additions in Fla........they've got complete sets of the vacuum lines you'll need....in different colours too!

Barbara and Bill are great vendors.......I've bought lots of their products over the years.......good prices, quick shipping and excellent service!

I love this place. My lines are cracked and in need of replacement as well. Lucky for me, the question has been asked and very well answered.

Thanks again TB.com!

I purchased the hoses as a kit from a turbobuick supplier and the silicone hoses were of inferior quality and some hoses were even starting to split. I then purchased a whole new set from stylin motors, and the quality is much higher, and the hoses look better(the originals got dull looking) I think the original silicone only lasted 1500 miles on my new motor.
