I have a completely rebuilt drivetrain from 1984 T-Type. 3.8 L c/w rebuilt stock turbo and 2004r tranny(also rebuilt). I'm located in Saskatoon,Sk. Canada.

I've transplanted the engine out of a 84 T-Type into my El Camino(actually I had a local shop do it). The engine works but I don't believe the way it should. I have a turbo that is burning through oil. Now I have another guy thats say I should take the turbo off the intake and move it up front...

So now my guy say's that he could rebuild my turbo but within in a year I'll have to do it over again. Is this a fact of life for this hot air turbo?

I have to fix or change the turbo on my '84 t-type. I've been to talking to a local mechanic that I believe is knowledgable about turbos and he wants to take the turbo off the top of the engine and place it up front. I can understand what he is telling me that it will get it away from the heat...

I put a 3.8l from an '84 T-Type into '80 El Camino. The check engine light comes on and the problem code detects VSS, but I don't have a speed sensor. Any ideas how to get past this?

Will the rear end out of an '84 T-Type fit into my '80 El Camino , or will I need to modify something?
