I tried mounting a 275/50/15 on a 15x10 5.5 bs on my non-notched monte last night. I tried a 1/2 spacer and it didn't work out. i had about 1/8" between tire and frame. It also looked like the fender would come really close to the tire. Will a 15x8 rim clear this up? I thought i remember...

thanks for the compliments guys. the wheel gap is between the fender and tire. i am not sure if the 275dr will work, but if we had a race track on Oahu (hawaii), i would just buy the 275 and make it work. right now, the closest race track is in maui so i don't have a need to buy dr's yet...

how much abuse can they take? I have a 87 monte ss and i am looking to upgrade my rear end. it is either going to be a 8.5 with new internals (locker, ring and pinion) or a crate 12 bolt. I would rather go with the 8.5 because it is more budget friendly. but i am wondering how strong it is...
