Have you tried unplugging the cam sensor like was previously mentioned?? That can cause this issue if the sensor is faulty or not timed properly

Ill check tonight. It was in an el Camino with turbo buick swap. I know the trans has whatever shift kit charlie uses and shifted the way it should to work with the 3.8 turbo. I know it has the universal bell housing and will fit a chevy bolt pattern also.
