    Blast from the past

Jay: Yeah, same with me. Always seems it's a go in January, then May comes around and hey, "my calendar is full". We just gotta force ourselves to do it. It'd be a blast! Talking to Ken Mosher, he's keen on the idea. I need to get a hold of Joe Lubrant, drag him out of retirement maybe?

    Blast from the past

Boy, that chip business was bustling, wasn't it? One of these days, all of us old-timers should all meet at the GSNats, just for posterity....There's still a few of us around.

    Blast from the past

I was heavily into chip hacking back then. In 1987, I produced the thumbwheel chip "Ultrachip" for the turbo Buick market. Eight chips in one became a very unique offering. That was the start of Caspers. When that ATR ad came out, it was instrumental into hacking the current chips on the market...

Power Master 30 amp fuse keeps blowing

The main problem with the powermaster system is that people overfill the reservoir, and it runs out, directly into the motor, causing major damage to the windings. Most people don't realize that you need to fill the reservoir to the line -only- when the pressure is released. You pump the brake...

Heater wiring in Engine Bay melted

Corrosion is what kills that connection. It happens because the electrical connection has a horizontal surface and collects water and moisture, which leads to galvanic corrosion and is unavoidable due to poor design. It's a common problem with the digital climate control-equipped Regals. The...

    Stock Harness to Holley Adapter?

The main problem with using an adapter is that the original wiring on our turbo cars commonly fails due to deteriorating connections, oxidized copper, unsealed connector failure, etc. And the Holley has many extra inputs and outputs that won't interface with the basically simple stock turbo...

    Is this the correct ecm

ECM has nothing to do with startup spark. Cam and Crank sensor both have to be functional to initiate a spark. Two fuses relative to the ignition should be checked.

    Emission Vacuum Metal Lines

I've got a set of powdercoated lines if you're interested.

    Wiring worry-wort

I used to build custom harnesses that way, when someone wanted a "stealth" harness. Ran the alternator output under the runners as well along with every sensor. Even built injector connections that would run under it. Then, at the firewall under the ignition module, I'd install bulkhead...

More 86/87 wiring diagram questions for the experts

The C437 connector is near the ECM connections down at the passenger kick panel area. It's a double sided white connector and is plugged into one or two black connectors that go to the dash wiring.

That power feed for the ignition module isn't in the C100 bulkhead connector, it's in the C437 (white) connector. The CCCI module power is the only pink/black feed that's not at the large bulkhead.

    Rear defogger switch lights

Not likely the bulb. Probably the dimmer switch circuit. Does the defogger get warm? First push will be 10 minutes, after that, the second push will run it 5 minutes. After that, pushing the switch twice will shut off the lamp and the defogger.

Tach sensor wire not by alternator

There will be two white wires, not one. Someone could have removed them from the green connector, tied them together, and buried them somewhere in the harness. But they are there somewhere.

    D/side Engine Bay Electrical Question

Keep it unplugged. In fact, there's another 3 cavity connector on the same delay relay. Unplug that as well. The delay relay is frequently a source of electrical system gremlins and is not needed.
