Just to give you heads up, I put threads on Maliburacing and MontecarloSS asking about the 12 bolts. One reply on the Monte site so far and the guy says no matter what brand rear you buy you will have the same problem with the shocks because the mounts aren't shaped like the original factory...
I hope you keep us updated on what Moser says. I just don't understand how other guys have used this same rear without any problems. Im sure there are quite a few g body owners that have installed them with no mods at all. What the heck did they do to get hem to work right ? I think Im going to...
From what I remember the way the lower mounts are shaped or designed it wouldn't even matter if they were cut off the tubes and rewelded. I know the shocks are still going to be a problem with the new rear that they sent me. My plan is to get the lower shock bolt lined up the best we can while...
I'm sorry to hear that you're having the same problems. I cant believe Moser hasn't fixed the issues that are causing this. Whats the problem with your rear ? Spring perches welded in the wrong place or are you having a problem with the shock lining up to the mount ? Ive got a bunch of close up...
I appreciate the offer but theres so much more to be done than the rear. The motors on a stand, transmission is built ready to go in, interior has been done but the carpet is in a box on the garage floor, dash has to be put back together. This was supposed to be the last project. It may never be...
I sent the rear back last year right after I put the last post in. The customer rep from Moser told me that I'd have to pay the shipping cost to get it there but they let me use their account so I got a little discount. I shipped it from Long Island on a Thurs and they called me the following...
These are a few of the pictures that I sent to Moser today. They told me they would send a pickup ticket to ship it back but if it fits in their jig Im on the hook for the bill to get it there and back. If any of you guys think this looks wrong please let me know. My biggest problem seems to be...
Funny that you say that. I wasnt sure which way to install them so I called Hotchkis. The tech guy said since its a variable weight spring it didnt matter and when they install springs they put the narrow side to the rear. I put a post on another g body site and there werent many replys.
I sent Moser at least 20 detailed pictures of the problem. I know the pinion angle is 4 degrees with the 2" drop springs. Im planning on using 1" drop springs instead. I put this post on MonteSS.com and one of the guys posted pictures of his Monte from the side before he put on his backing...
Im hoping some of you folks can give me your opinion of whats wrong with these pictures. Ive got a new Moser 12 bolt in my 81 G body. Im using Hotchkis upper and lower control arms, the uppers are non adjustable. I bought a set of Hotchkis 2" lowering springs and when I went to put it all...
Just thought I'd post an update on the problem I had. My buddy helped me put the bumpstops in. He used a pair of vise grips that were designed for sheet metal work with the wide end. It pulled the rubber tab without distorting it and with a little lube it popped right in. I felt a little stupid...
Thanks for the replies guys. When you use the dish soap and warm water what else do you do ? Pull it with pliers from the top ? I tried to use a small screwdriver from the bottom to get the tabs through the slot but I wound up tearing the rubber up. I even shaved a little off of one thinking if...
Hello guys. As you can see this my first post and I need advice ASAP. Im rebuilding the front end in my car. All of the bushings and balljoints are in. Im having a REAL hard time getting the rubber bump stops in though. I just ordered the third set from PST today. I tore one from the first pair...
