    Altitude and boost.

    Higher altitude means thinner (less dense) air, so less power/torque then say at seal level. A higher octane fuel being used would help reduce the tendency for a engine to "ping" or "knock" for a given situation.

    Crank position sensor

    Crank sensor Thanks Tin Man, that was what I was going to do, I figured two thin pieces of cardboard would help set the spacing to make sure the three tabs didn't cut into the sensor.
