Yes sir. Believe me - I've done all that until I was blue in the face. Every once in awhile I'll get a slight backfire up in the intake but other than that - nothing. Just think it's time to let the pros have it. But thanks for all your input.
Thank you - That is the answer to my question. Did that and I've got the 0 to 0 dots lined up. The on;y other thing is does it matter if #1 piston at TDC is on compression or exhaust stroke or will it work either way? Thanx

Just hooked a Scanmaster 2.1 in my '87 GN. Disconnect negative battery cable. Red to positive ingnition, black to ground and white to orange wire on ALDL connector. Connect negative battery cable back up, turn on key and Scanmaster is very faintly flashing " 2.1 ." Anyone have any ideas what...
'87 GN won't fire. Can anyone tell me - if I hook up a code reader to the car would I get any info from it with the car just turning over and not starting? Also which code reader would one use? OBD1 or OBD2? I think that's what they're called but not sure. Thanx, Rick
