    Carly scanner

I know it’s not turbo Buick related. But has anyone ever used that Carly scanner? I got one as they seem to be exactly what I was looking for in an at home scan tool. What a pile of junk, can’t seem to figure out how to use any of the features shown in reviews and the live data doesn’t work at...

    Crown lower steering column bearing

Hey guys, I’m installing a Crown lower steering bearing kit in my GN. Is the bearing supposed to be sloppy in the white carrier piece? Seems like the bearing will just spin in the white part and wear it out super fast.

    Parts and BG. Any interest?

I did an engine on a ‘84 WH1 T-Type for a guy and the new turbo failed almost immediately. Pumping oil out the exhaust side. Maybe 2 hours of running, hasn’t even been driven yet. I pulled the turbo back off and the oil drain is clear, tube is clear 0 restrictions. Is there anything different...

    Cam Button

I use Mikes Parcel Pickup in Pembina ND, but the boarders are closed so I can’t get across. I can only get within 2km of it.

    Cam Button

Thanks, I ordered it from Summit. but I’m in Canada so with shipping, exchange rate, duty and taxes that $31.00 part will probably cost me $130.00 by the time it gets here. Good thing it’s not my car.

    Cam Button

Where can I find a turbo oil feed line for an ‘84 hot air? I work on a lot of Buick’s from home, I did the engine on this particular 1984 T-Type WH1 last year and it now has a pin hole in the turbo oil feed line that is spraying oil onto the exhaust up pipe to the turbo. I see G-Body parts...

    Drivers side exhaust manifold

It's an 84 WH1 T-Type. I'm doing the engine on it for him and he lost his exhaust manifolds. I just went out the garage and installed them on the engine (still on the engine stand). the drivers side fit pretty well other than I had to get new bolts cause it only uses 2 long bolts. the passenger...

    Drivers side exhaust manifold

Ever heard of DNA Motorsports? The owner of the '84 in question just dropped off a set of stainless exhaust manifolds from these folks. Are they any good? They feel ok, weight wise anyways, nice thick flanges. I tried to check them out on-line, but they have the worst website ever... which...

Oil Leak coming from flywheel cover

I actually keep a large drip pan on my garage floor under my engine. Right now I have no leaks as my engine is only 2 years old with about 6000km on it. But it's a turbocharged Buick, it will start leaking eventually. Before I had the engine rebuilt it would leak bad in the spring after...

Oil Leak coming from flywheel cover

Like it has been said, most likely a rear crank seal. But on a 33 year old low mileage car it could be literally leaking from everywhere and running down the back of the motor. Valve cover gaskets, PCV grommet, rear of intake manifold, oil pan gasket. Unless you have a fresh engine if it is...

Did I install this cam sensor correct?

You didn't plug the fuel pump test wire into the tach test wire did you? They are right behind and kinda below the alternator. They look like they should be connected, and they will plug right into each other but they shouldn't be. I don't remember if that will cause a no start but it's a...

Did I install this cam sensor correct?

That's the same cam I have, and my car runs great. I'm only asking the following question because I've seen it done more than once. Did you put the push rods in?

Did I install this cam sensor correct?

Sounds like the cam sensor is 180' out, mixed with some major vacuum leaks where you said there is no PCV valve in it yet. It will start 180' out, but it sounds like the battery is dead. Set the engine to #1 TDC compression and put the cam sensor in like in the picture, no test lights...

    Headlight upgrades

Those look good, very stock appearing. I'll check them out. Are the plug and play?

    Headlight upgrades

I have heat in my garage, but it's to expensive to keep it on. GN sits usually from early November to early May. Plus we got a big snow dump Sunday night. I had snow drifts almost waist deep. Spent an hour and a half last night with the snowblower.
