    Seat slide questions.....

That is what I thought also. I have done some more looking into this and found that he is converting from a split bench to buckets which they both use the same floorpan brackets to mount the slides. The power seat slides are the same for split bench or buckets on the drivers side, so one would...

    Seat slide questions.....

Hey guys I haven't been over here in a long time posting as other things have taken me away from the G-body stuff for awhile. I have a few questions regarding the seat slides on the GN's. Is there a difference in the ones for the 84's as compared to the 85 & up slides? I am talking manual ones...

I talked with the guys at PUI and there are part numbers in the system for these seats as of today. Check with your local vendors as to price and availablity as PUI does not sell on the retail level................RatPack...............

Yes that is the information I need. This tag shown is from a late build car built the first week of June (first line 06A) and the rest of the top line contains the body style and the body number. We can correlate the build date and body numbers and vins to see when this change...

    Trim Tag questions.........

Actually the vin is not anywhere on the trim tag, only the body number, build date, a few options, and the exterior color and interior trim code. There may or may not be some internal plant codes on there. I know that most cars are supposed to have them, however since these Monte Carlos popped...

    Trim Tag questions.........

Guys and gals, I have been doing a lot of research on the GN's as well as the 83-88 SS Monte Carlos, and the Hurst Olds in regards to production anomolies. Like the one I found with the shoulder belt guides on the 84 GN's, I have come across one on the Monte Carlo and that trim tags seem to be...

I am sure that pricing will be in line with the ones that used to be offered by other suppliers, but hopefully it will be cheaper. As I was told when they first started this project, there is a lot of time in making these covers, and your upholstery guy will have a lot of time in recovering...

    1984 seats

Okay I got a reply back from PUI today and here is what I was told: "I'm hopeful that these will be released in the next newsletter. Once they are, everyone will be able to order them. And we certainly will sell just the rear seat covers, we sell everything like that. I will forward this on...

Guys I will check on this for you tomorrow. I spoke with them two weeks ago and they were still costing these seat covers out. As for the buying just the rear seat back portion, I would probably say no, as they only sell either the front buckets as a pair, the rear seat as a whole, or the...

    No Engine Number???

I wasn't talking about the production engines in regards to the BE (Buick Engine), warranty replacement and parts department short & long block assemblies were stamped with some form of identification as to what application it was to be used in. The sticker on the valve cover was for easy...

    No Engine Number???

Actually it is more than likely the original engine to the car and not a warranty or replacement engine. The replacement blocks were stamped at the engine assembly plant for use in warranty or normal parts sales. Those numbers were used to track its sale to the dealer. When used under a warranty...

84 GN owners, look at my new headliner?!!

You should be able to get it done at a local upholstery shop for under $200.00. I think I paid $140.00 for the last one I had done. Usually I will cover them myself, but it is a pain in the rear when the windshield or rear window are still in the car. Trying to get that board out w/o breaking it...

As soon as I hear from PUI about pricing I will post it here first. Right now I don't have a clue as to what these covers are going to cost. They said there would be pricing and availability by the end of the February, and I don't see them being as high as a custom shop would charge. They have...
