Well I just remembered this thread so I figured I would update it. Aeromotive pumped worked fine on E85 all season. Went 10.62@124 on a walbro 255 out of fuel. Then went 10.58 @ 136.9 with fuel and a aeromotive 340 on a 2g DSM. Had a ok year with a electrical gremlin givings us problems all...
We had the same problem and the talon did not run/tune right. But we thought it was the way our DSM pump hanger needs the pump nipple to snap up into it with a o-ring and plastic adapter.
It did not snap in as well as a Walbro. So for right now we are running a walbro. But we modified our...
Well here is some more info on the aeromotive pump. Check out a test here:
Fuel Pump Comparison Test : Real Street Performance Engine Parts, Pistons Rods Cams Valvetrain and More
Ok one more time and I am done for awhile. We are testing a few parts on the dyno soon so we are going to try the aeromotive. Was told buy a respected friend who I trust. That this is the pump to solve our issue for now.
I had also contacted aeromotive about what this pump will flow like...
Here is the flow at 14v sent to me from aeromotive. So the first 14v is a 255 modified from the AMS test. Then my figures at 13.5v. Third row at 13.5v is me reading the aeromotive chart. And last is the new 14v for Aeromotive. I removed the DW301 from this list.
40psi @ 14v = 339 @ 13.5v =...
I did not do the flow tests just compared the data I could find for everyone.
If you look at the tests. All the new pumps flow a bunch at low psi 30/40ish. That is why you guys are having return issues. Makes sense. I am not sure what kind of volts you guys see at idle. But the modified 255...
Yes but that is my figure of 5% of the flow at 14v in the AMS test. So it is what it is. All I know is a modified walblows work really well. But I need more pump. I can get away with a modified 255 and a BAP. But figured I would research these other pumps first.
Here I go again. I think there is a some flow data on the Jay racing pump. I will look into that tomorrow. Here is more info to compare.
Here is AMS test on a non modified 255hp at 14v and my figures at 13.5v.
Then third is Aero's chart for 255hp again as I figured. That chart is hard to...
Thanks for the info on the DW301. Here is the GPH converted to LPH.
I did the math to convert to LPH I will add this to my other chart.
30psi:
12v = 69.8 GPH = 266 LPH
14v = 87.5 GPH = 330 LPH
16v = 97.5 GPH = 370 LPH
40psi:
12v = 61.5 GPH = 233 LPH
14v = 80 GPH = 303 LPH...
How do you know? I linked a flow test that says it is very close. So I did more research and here I found that kenne bell says 1 volt at the pump is 10% so .5 volt is 5% ish.
The test I linked to is tested at 14 volts. The aero chart is 13.5. So I did the math:
The first figures are a...
Some more info for you guys. A bunch of DSM and EVO owners punch in the pressure relief valve of the walbro for more flow. Here is a test you might have seen before.
Here is the link you will have to copy it because I am not allowed to post links. add the http to the link guys. Sorry about...
Thanks for your input. I was using regular E98 cut with gas. Tested it with a quickfuel tester to comeout about right on. Also here is the info I have for the industrial grade ethanol:
Isopropanol
Methanol
Methyl Isobutyl Ketone
Here is what the MSDS says for a weight percentage...
So can you guys tell me if I can use industrial grade E98? It is call ethanol 200
I lost my guy who was getting me regular gas mix E98. Thanks for any info. Or if you have questions just fire away.
Take care.
